Day in the life at Friends for Pets Ltd doggy day care

My Mum dropped me off at Becca's on the way to her office this morning. I have been coming in since I was tiny and love it here! I come twice a week so I don't have to spend the day at home by myself while my mum is out at work. When I arrived I ran round the house shouting to let Becca (and the rest of her village!) know I was here! Becca got her coat on and we went for a walk over to see her horses and give them all breakfast and make sure they were all set up for the day. Then we went back to the house. Becca had some work to do so I fell to sleep on her feet and kept them nice and warm for her. Just before lunch we had to go and see some of my friends and go for a walk. We went around the nearby villages and picked up Teddy, Toby and Ruby. We had an amazing walk on top of Cheddar Gorge. My friends and I ran around and had a great time. I laid in lots of puddles and shouted at everyone! Toby rolled in one of my puddles and was covered in mud. Becca and I were not best pleased! Toby thought it was great though! After the walk we dropped everyone off (showered as well in some cases – not mentioning any names Toby!) and went back to Becca's house. I was exhausted and went to sleep. Becca said I was snoring but I don't believe her! Later in the afternoon Becca dropped me back at my house just before my Mum and Dad got home. I can't wait for next time!

Day in the life Dog walking

Today Sarah came to walk me. I have been walking with my friends at Friends for Pets Ltd for the last couple of years and get walked four or five times a week. I am so glad that my mum lets them come to walk me. I used to have another dog walker and sometimes she forgot to walk me or she brought so many dogs with her that she didn't really pay me much attention. Since Sarah has been walking me I feel much happier. I think my mum likes her quite a lot too as she writes this pet diary thing after my walk which always makes my mum laugh when she gets home from work. If Sarah can't come then Louise comes. I love them both so much! Sarah arrived and today we walked from my house along the footpaths and up through the woods. We met another of the Friends for Pets walkers out and about with two of my friends that I sometimes see. They are called Doug and Doris. We had a little bit of a run around in the fields and then carried on our walk. Sarah gave me lots of cuddles along the way and we played with my ball. I was so tired when we got home that I didn't hear the front door go and my mum getting in from work!

Day in the life Overnight boarding

My family started talking about going on holiday a few months ago. I overheard them and just started worrying. I didn't have the best start in life and after being left abandoned by my previous family I had to go and live in a kennels for a while. It was ok but was quite sad and not very comfortable. I got quite lonely and wished I had a nice family to look after me. Then one day these nice people came to see me and I loved them. They took me home and gave me a lovely comfy bed with lots of nice food ad went on lost of walks. After a while my past seemed like a different lifetime ago! This was until I heard the word kennels mentioned again! Fortunately we were out walking one day and met one of my friends Alfie and his mum. My mum and his mum had a chat whilst we were playing and my mum went home all excited. She told my Dad that Alfie had been to this place called Friends for Pets when his family had been on holiday – Alfie had mentioned this to me but I didn't believe his stories, they seemed a bit too good to be true! A few days later we went to visit a lady called Julie. She was so nice and gave me lots of cuddles. I tried to help fill in my form! Julie had a dog called Wally who was very friendly and welcoming. We ran around and around their garden. My mum told me this was where I was going to stay when my family went on holiday. I was a bit nervous so we booked a short 24 hour stay. When we arrived for my 24 hours stay I was a bit scared. Wally came rushing in from the kitchen to great me, he is such a cool guy! After a while my Mum and Dad left. It was a bit strange being in someone else's house so Julie, Wally and I went for a walk. We had a great time and I went swimming in the stream near to her house. We then walked up over the hill and back through the woods. I had the best time. Wally and I had a little sleep in our beds in the kitchen. I decided to sleep in Wally's bed so Wally slept in my bed. Later in the afternoon, we went for another little walk around the fields. We came home and had dinner. Sometimes I get a bit of a poorly tummy so I was so glad that my mum had brought my usual food with me. Wally and I then curled up with Julie next to the fire for the evening. In the evening we had to go out in the garden for a quick toilet break. It was pouring down and I wasn't really that keen but Julie said I ought to! Wally and I slept side by side all night. In the morning, we went for a walk with another of my new friends called Molly. She is very sweet girl. We went for a walk along the beach and played with the ball. This is so much better than being cooped up in a kennel, it is definitely more tiring as we are having soo much fun but I don't mind that! After the walk my Mum and Dad came. I couldn't believe they were here already and when they opened the car boot up I ran back in the house and sat behind my new friend Julie and Wally in hope that I could stay and play a bit longer. They said I couldn't stay today but would be back next week for my longer holiday. I am so excited, I can't begin to tell you!

Day in the life Small pet visiting

We are sisters and our Dad goes away to work a couple of days a week. We used to have to go into a cattery for a night every week before my Dad found Friends for Pets. Now we have a lovely couple called Sally and Mike that come to look after us. This means that we can stay at home. It is much warmer and we can wonder round and keep an eye on our neighbourhood whilst Dad is away. Sally and Mike come in twice a day, in the morning and the evening. They are great cat sitters and give us lots of fuss whilst they are here. They come in and feed us, give us lovely fresh water and make sure our litter tray is clean. We then sit and snuggle, I love our time that we spend with them. My sister Daisy has something called Diabetes and needs an injection once a day. Sally gives this to her to make sure that she doesn't get poorly whilst my Dad is away. It is so nice having out freedom and being able to go and sit on our radiator seats even though Dad isn't here. We are so grateful for Sally and Mike.
