{"id":583,"date":"2023-02-22T09:47:34","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T09:47:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.friendsforpets.co.uk\/dog-walking-blog\/?p=583"},"modified":"2024-02-20T09:37:55","modified_gmt":"2024-02-20T09:37:55","slug":"to-celebrate-dog-biscuit-day-we-are-sharing-some-of-our-favourite-doggy-biscuit-recipes-with-you%ef%bf%bc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.friendsforpets.co.uk\/dog-walking-blog\/?p=583","title":{"rendered":"To celebrate Dog Biscuit Day, we are sharing some of our favourite doggy biscuit recipes with you\ufffc"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Cheesy Dog Biscuit Recipe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>115ml of hot water<\/li><li>1 chicken or beef stock cube<\/li><li>1 egg<\/li><li>200 g of wholemeal flour<\/li><li>40 g of grated cheddar cheese<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Preheat your oven at 180c<\/li><li>Make your stock- Boil 115ml of water and add your stock cube, then mix well.<\/li><li>Mix your flour, egg and stock together in a mixing bowl to create a dough<\/li><li>Add the grated cheese to the dough mixture, do add some more water or flour if the constancy is not quite right to roll out<\/li><li>Flour a surface and knead the dough ready to roll out<\/li><li>Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out a thin consistency, the thinner they are, the quicker they will cook<\/li><li>You can cut your biscuits into any shape you like, a dog bone is our personal favourite<\/li><li>Place in the oven on a baking tray, lined with baking parchment, cook until golden brown, maximum time of 20 minutes<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you are feeling up for more of a challenge, why not try another recipe, that is certainly also a favourite for us!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Peanut butter and honey dog biscuits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the Dog Treats<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>whole wheat flour&nbsp;300 grams<\/li><li>peanut butter&nbsp;270 grams (see note regarding choosing the a peanut butter that is not poisonous to your dog)<\/li><li>2 tbsp honey<\/li><li>1 large egg<\/li><li>230ml water<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the Frosting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2 tbsp peanut butter&nbsp;<\/li><li>1tbsp honey&nbsp;<\/li><li>cornstarch&nbsp;<em>35g<\/em><\/li><li>4tbsp&nbsp;hot water&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Preheat oven to 180c and line a baking tray with baking parchment.<\/li><li>In a large bowl, mix the flour and the egg. Add the peanut butter, water, and honey, and stir until you have a stiff dough. The dough should now be a very firm and sticky consistency.<\/li><li>lightly flour your surface, roll out the dough about \u00bd-inch thick and use a cookie cutter to make whatever shape biscuit you would like to make.<\/li><li>Bake for up to 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Once baked, set them aside on a cooling rack to cool<\/li><li>To make the frosting, combine the peanut butter and honey in a microwavable bowl, and heat in the microwave for 10 seconds each time, stirring in between, until melted.<ol><li>Add the cornstarch to a bowl and add the peanut butter mixture, mix until well combined.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>Add the water into the frosting mix, one tablespoon at a time. The more water you add the thinner the frosting consistency will be.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>If you are a dab hand with a piping bag, add your frosting mixture into the piping bag and decorate away.<\/li><li>For an even easier option, if you do make the frosty quite thin you should be able to drizzle over the biscuits with a spoon.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Storage:&nbsp;<\/strong>Store homemade peanut butter dog treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 months or in the freezer for up to 8 months<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did you make either of our truly scrumptious recipes?
