Hello everyone!ย

Spring is officially in the air, and we are so excited to welcome the longer days and (hopefully) some sunshine for our walks.

A Note From Our Founder, Becca

“Welcome to our March edition! As the flowers start to bloom, Iโ€™m reminded of why I started Friends for Pets: to ensure every pet receives the same love and attention they would get from their own family. Whether youโ€™ve been with us for years or are just joining the pack, thank you for trusting us with your furry best friends. This month is particularly special as we celebrate the incredible women who make this business possible. Happy Spring!”

Why Choose Friends for Pets?

We know you have choices when it comes to pet care, but we like to do things a little differently. Here is why our clients stay with us:

โ€ข The Best of Both Worlds: We operate UK-wide, giving us the resources and professional standards of a large network, yet we maintain a deeply personal touch. Because of our franchise model, your local pet sitter is a business owner who is personally invested in your petโ€™s happiness.

โ€ข Safety First: We are fully licensed and insured, giving you total peace of mind while youโ€™re away.

โ€ข Discretion is Key: Unlike many services, we don’t use marked vehicles. We believe your privacy and home security are paramount; our arrival shouldn’t broadcast to the neighbourhood that you aren’t home.

Easter Alert: The Chocolate Danger

With Easter just around the corner, our homes are often filled with sweet treats. However, chocolate contains theobromine, which is highly toxic to dogs.

How to prevent accidental poisoning:

1. High Shelves Only: Store all Easter eggs in top cupboards, not on kitchen counters where “counter-surfers” can reach them.

2. The “Egg Hunt” Sweep: If you’re hosting an egg hunt, keep dogs inside during the hunt and do a final sweep to ensure no stray chocolate is left in the grass.

3. Bin Security: Make sure wrappers (which can cause blockages) and leftover chocolate are in a secure, dog-proof bin.

If you suspect your dog has ingested chocolate, contact your vet immediately. Even when there are no signs of ill health.

๐Ÿ’œ Celebrating International Women’s Day

Friends for Pets is proud to be a predominantly female-led business with an incredible team of women across the country. To celebrate International Women’s Day, weโ€™ve put together a special video!ย
