Most of our dog’s love socialising with other dogs and enjoy our dog walking adventures! However, it is super important to get the right group of dogs with every walk and even more important to keep the group to a maximum of 6 dogs, with at least 2 dog walkers.

We always do a home visit and usually start with a solo walk, to build up that bond with their dog walker, to get to know the dog’s personality before introducing them slowly to other dogs and eventually build them up to group walks.

With a higher number of dogs in a group, becomes more risk with potential injuries through play or fights when dogs become dominant.

Supervision also becomes a lot harder if the number of dogs increases. With busy roads, livestock, cyclist, other dogs, people, and children, it is so important that all dogs of the lead have good recall and stay with the group to avoid any accidents.

Having a large group of dogs there is more chance of diseases and illness’ being transmitted from one dog to the other.

It is important that the walker always feels in control and can get the dogs back on lead quickly if they needed to, this can be difficult if there is a large group of dogs.

It is always good to be prepared on walks with toys and treats to keep the group engaged.
