Hello from Becca!
Hi everyone!
I hope you’re all enjoying this glorious sunshine as much as we are—what a treat after the long winter months! It’s the perfect time for outdoor adventures with our furry friends, and we’ve got lots of exciting things happening at Friends for Pets that we can’t wait to share with you.
Vicki’s Marathon Magic
A huge round of a-paws for our very own Vicki from our Chew Valley franchise, who ran the London Marathon on April 27th to raise money for Cancer Research. She did an amazing job and powered through to the finish line! We’re all incredibly proud of her effort, dedication, and big heart. Vicki has raised an amazing £1,795!
Annual Conference – Save the Date!
We’re gearing up for our Annual Friends for Pets Conference on May 16th. It’s always a great opportunity for our team to learn, share, network and grow together, ensuring we’re delivering the very best care for your pets. Stay tuned for some behind-the-scenes snapshots on our socials!
Jodie is taking over our Bristol branch!
From 1st of May Jodie will take the reins from Lucy, for Bristol Friends for Pets, we’d like to say a massive thankyou to Lucy for all her hard work and wish Jodie all the luck and support, we know she’s going to absolutely smash it!
Walking Your Dog in Hot Weather – Top Tips!
With warmer days upon us, it’s important to keep our pets safe and cool. Here are a few friendly reminders for summer strolls:
- Avoid midday walks – Early morning or evening is best when it’s cooler.
- Test the pavement – If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!
- Keep them hydrated – Always bring fresh water for both you and your dog.
- Watch for signs of overheating – Any excessive panting, drooling, or lethargy means it’s time to rest in the shade.
- Shorter walks – A quick, fun stroll can be safer than a long one in the heat.
Let’s keep tails wagging safely all summer long!
